Director, Business Development – Asia Pacific

About the role

This senior leadership position is responsible for driving strategic growth of defense and aerospace solutions across the Asia Pacific region. Based in Portugal, you will work at the intersection of government relations, commercial strategy, and complex defence procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead business development and government engagement activities throughout APAC, shaping market entry and expansion plans.
• Develop and execute regional go‑to‑market and capture strategies, including RFI/RFP responses and bid management.
• Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with defence ministries, air forces and other key stakeholders.
• Conduct market intelligence and sizing analyses to identify trends, risks and new opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, finance and technical teams to support solution development.
• Represent the organisation at international defence and aerospace events across the region.
• Oversee government‑relations strategy, monitoring regulatory changes and engaging policy makers.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in business development, capture management or government‑facing commercial roles within aerospace, defence or complex government services.
• Proven track record working with Asia Pacific defence ministries, air forces or procurement bodies.
• Deep understanding of defence procurement cycles, government structures and tendering processes.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with hands‑on execution capability.
