Deputy Representative Operations (P-4) – Fixed Term

About the role

The Deputy Representative Operations supports the Head of Office in Cotonou by ensuring UNICEF’s assets are used efficiently and in line with best management practices. This senior P‑4 position is a strategic Business Partner within the senior management team, driving operational excellence for programmes that benefit children.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Operations team, fostering technical competence and career progression.
• Champion value‑for‑money initiatives and strategic resource allocation.
• Enhance risk‑management processes to improve performance and internal controls.
• Drive centralisation and optimisation of operational systems for greater efficiency.
• Strengthen internal and external partnerships and ensure robust financial oversight across the office.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Management, Financial Management, Accounting, Public Finance, or related fields.
• Professional accounting designation (CA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CPFA, Expert Comptable) with active membership, or a Bachelor’s degree plus at least two years relevant experience.
