Data Scientist – Financial Services (Lisbon, hybrid/remote)

About the role

Join a global financial services partner in Lisbon as a Data Scientist, helping to build a new Data hub that will support worldwide operations. This hybrid/remote role offers the chance to work on cutting‑edge analytics projects and drive transformation across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop innovative, data‑driven solutions to complex business challenges.
• Design and implement end‑to‑end data pipelines using internal and third‑party datasets.
• Apply advanced machine learning and statistical modelling techniques to generate actionable insights.
• Collaborate with data engineers, pricing teams and other stakeholders to enhance analytics practices.
• Support the adoption of data‑science methods in underwriting, especially within the Major Property team.

Required profile

• Experience in data science or advanced analytics, or a strong desire to learn.
• Proven track record of delivering predictive or prescriptive analytics that influence business decisions.
• Proficiency with Python, R and SQL.
• Strong interest in machine‑learning techniques ranging from linear models to deep learning.
• Degree in a STEM discipline (preferred but not mandatory).
• Experience in finance, insurance or e‑commerce is a plus.
