Data Quality Engineer (Contract)

About the role

Wellnecity is seeking independent contractors to support a large‑scale data migration and ongoing data quality operations for healthcare datasets. The role focuses on validating, reconciling, and improving data quality across claims, eligibility, and enrollment data.

Key responsibilities

• Lead data validation and reconciliation for migration of medical claims, pharmacy claims, eligibility and enrollment datasets across 70+ sources.
• Validate automated field mappings, identify schema differences, value‑domain mismatches, and transformation gaps.
• Execute end‑to‑end ingestion testing on the new data platform, comparing outputs to legacy baselines.
• Design and develop SQL‑ and Python‑based data quality checks, including source‑to‑target reconciliation, distribution comparisons, completeness tests and parity validation.
• Collaborate closely with the Head of Data Operations and Data Engineering teams to resolve identified issues.

Required profile

• Located in Puerto Rico at the time of application.
• Experience working with complex, imperfect healthcare data sets.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
