Data Engineer (Porto)

About the role

KWAN is seeking a motivated Data Engineer to join its team in Porto. You will work on designing, building, and maintaining modern data solutions that support both data warehouse and data lake architectures.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines using SQL, Python, and PySpark (or equivalent technologies).
• Design and implement scalable Data Warehouse and Data Lake solutions.
• Apply software‑engineering best practices such as version control, code reviews, and automation.
• Work with cloud‑based data platforms and distributed processing environments.
• Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to deliver reliable, high‑performance data services.
• Continuously improve data‑engineering processes, tools, and standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience with SQL, Python, and PySpark (or similar).
• Strong knowledge of data modelling, Data Warehouses and Data Lakes.
• Experience with Git, code reviews, development patterns, and automation.
• Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, GCP, or AWS).
• Understanding of distributed data ecosystems such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, or Databricks.
• Resident of Porto and able to work in a hybrid setting.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
