Data Engineer (French) – PowerBI & PowerCenter

About the role

Decskill is seeking a senior Data Engineer fluent in French to join a hybrid project in Porto. You will work within a multinational IT consulting environment, delivering high‑performance data integration solutions for national and international clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy robust ETL pipelines using PowerCenter or comparable tools (e.g., Talend, Odi).
• Write and optimise complex PL/SQL stored procedures, functions and queries, preferably on Oracle databases.
• Contribute to data‑warehouse modelling, ensuring relational and dimensional consistency.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate data requirements into effective solutions.
• Maintain, support and optimise existing data pipelines, diagnosing and resolving issues promptly.
• Apply best practices for data quality, governance and security.
• Assist in creating Power BI dashboards and reports, and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Higher education degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Data Engineer or ETL Developer.
• Strong mastery of a major ETL tool, with PowerCenter being a key asset.
• Excellent PL/SQL skills; Oracle experience strongly preferred.
• Solid knowledge of data modelling (relational & dimensional) and data‑warehouse design.
• Fluent French (C2 level) and ability to work autonomously and in a team.
