Cybersecurity Analyst – Remote (Portugal)

About the role

Komodo Consulting is looking for a proactive Cybersecurity Analyst to join a technology client on a remote basis. You will be responsible for protecting the client’s infrastructure by managing detection, vulnerability, and incident‑response activities while promoting security best practices across teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own the detection lifecycle in an XDR platform (e.g., Palo Alto, CrowdStrike), creating and tuning rules and triaging security events.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments using tools such as Tenable or Qualys, produce clear reports and drive remediation with relevant stakeholders.
• Serve as a security reference point, raising awareness and embedding threat modeling into development processes.
• Support incident‑response from containment through recovery, document findings and translate lessons into improvements using frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
• Develop automation scripts (Python, Bash) and apply Infrastructure as Code principles to scale security tooling.
• Contribute to the evolution of internal security processes and evaluate emerging solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in two or more cybersecurity domains.
• Strong communication skills in English (B2 level or higher) and ability to work fully in an English‑speaking environment.
• Legal residency in Portugal.

Required skills

• Experience with XDR platforms (Palo Alto, CrowdStrike).
• Vulnerability management tools (Tenable, Qualys).
• Scripting languages: Python, Bash.
• Operating systems: Linux, macOS, Windows.
• Networking concepts and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Knowledge of security frameworks: MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS.
• Basic API‑based automation knowledge (plus).
