Cyber Security Engineer – Retail Sector

About the role

Devoteam is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to support the retail sector’s Microsoft Azure environment. You will help strengthen the security posture, assess cloud architectures and work closely with Cloud, Infrastructure and DevOps teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support and improve the security of Azure IaaS and PaaS workloads, including network segmentation, access controls and workload isolation.
• Assess existing cloud architectures, identify risks and recommend mitigation measures.
• Assist Identity and Access Management initiatives in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), reviewing authentication events and access patterns.
• Investigate cloud and identity security incidents, collaborate with internal teams and external SOC partners to enhance detection and response.
• Identify cloud vulnerabilities, misconfigurations and hardening opportunities, prioritising remediation based on risk.
• Contribute to security automation through scripts, policies and infrastructure templates.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, cloud engineering or related infrastructure roles.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to assess technical risks and propose practical security improvements.
• Comfortable working in environments with limited security tooling.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
