Country Finance Manager

About the role

The Country Finance Manager will be responsible for the full spectrum of accounting, financial reporting, treasury, tax and budgeting activities for the company in Portugal. Reporting directly to the CFO, the role combines operational oversight with strategic analysis to support business growth and ensure robust financial governance.

Key responsibilities

• Own all accounting and financial operations under Portuguese accounting standards, guaranteeing accuracy and timely reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and deliver reports to Group stakeholders.
• Manage treasury functions, including cash‑flow monitoring, liquidity planning and working‑capital optimisation.
• Oversee tax compliance (VAT, corporate tax) and coordinate with external advisors.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, providing insights for management decisions.
• Develop and monitor key financial KPIs to enhance visibility of performance.
• Collaborate with business units to deliver financial analysis for operational and strategic initiatives.
• Control costs, monitor expenses against budget, and assist in contract financial management.
• Coordinate with external accounting, audit and tax partners to ensure compliance with local and international requirements.
• Maintain internal financial controls, governance policies and drive continuous process improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• 8‑10 years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably in an international environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Portuguese accounting and tax regulations.
• Professional certification allowing signing of accounts in Portugal (e.g., Certified Accountant) is highly valued.
• Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Accounting Manager with full ownership of financial processes.
• Fluent English.
