Cook II – Culinary Team Member

About the role

Join the culinary team at a prestigious Ritz‑Carlton property in Sintra, Portugal. As a Cook II you will support the kitchen by preparing ingredients, cooking dishes to exact standards, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Portion, chop, wash, peel and store fresh fruits, vegetables and other ingredients.
• Measure, weigh and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Cook hot and cold foods, following quality, presentation and safety standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Test food for proper doneness and monitor temperature of appliances and dishes.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain sanitation of kitchen tools and equipment.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents or unsafe conditions and follow all company safety policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related kitchen experience.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb without assistance.
• Willingness to follow company policies, maintain professional appearance and protect confidential information.

Required skills

• Food safety and temperature monitoring.
• Ingredient preparation, portioning and storage.
