Construction Manager - Pharmaceutical

About the role

We are seeking a Construction Manager – Pharmaceutical to lead vertical construction projects for a pharma client in Carolina, PR. The role reports to the Program Manager and will be onsite full‑time, overseeing all phases from hand‑over to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Program and Project Managers to plan on‑site activities, allocate resources, procure equipment and schedule milestones.
• Align construction targets, safety requirements, site organization and policies with customers and external partners.
• Oversee on‑site operations from start‑up, construction, erection, testing to final delivery, ensuring compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, timelines and safety protocols.
• Represent the project on‑site, maintaining relationships with clients, local authorities, suppliers and financial institutions.
• Supervise handling, storage and installation of equipment delivered by external providers.
• Manage subcontractor performance to meet quality, safety and schedule expectations.
• Coordinate logistics for on‑site storage and timely delivery of materials.
• Implement and enforce a comprehensive HSE plan, train personnel on HSE policies and halt activities for OHS violations.

Required profile

• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience: 7 years with degree, 15 years with associate, 20 years without).
• Strong technical writing and communication skills demonstrated through presentations, papers or committee participation.
• Analytical problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Proficiency with web‑based construction management software and IT tools (Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS).
• Experience organizing meetings, agendas and minutes for project records.
