Commis Chef

About the role

The Costaterra Golf & Ocean Club, a private members‑only resort in Comporta, Portugal, is seeking a Commis Chef to support its high‑end culinary operations. You will work alongside the Charge Cook to prepare and deliver a wide range of dishes for guests, ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in supervising and training junior kitchen staff.
• Prepare complete meals, including soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, salads, and baked goods.
• Support menu planning, recipe development, and testing using standardized metric recipes.
• Take charge of a shift in the absence of the Charge Cook or Unit Supervisor.
• Check and receive supplies, maintain inventory control, and ensure proper storage.
• Prepare special diet meals and therapeutic nutrition as required.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area and perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
