Chief Social Policy (P-4) – Full Time

About the role

The Chief Social Policy leads UNICEF’s social policy programming in Benin, reporting to the Representative. This senior position is responsible for designing, advocating for and delivering policies that reduce child poverty, strengthen social protection and improve the transparency and efficiency of child‑focused public investments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide managerial leadership for social policy programmes.
• Improve data on child poverty and vulnerability to inform policy and programme action.
• Develop and plan social protection programmes that increase coverage and impact for children.
• Strengthen the use of public finance and budgeting for child‑focused investments at national and local levels.
• Lead advocacy and build partnerships to promote child‑sensitive social policies.
• Coordinate with UNICEF teams on education, health, child protection, water and sanitation, and HIV.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science or a related field.
• Minimum eight years of relevant professional experience.
• Fluency in French and English.
• Proven experience in advocacy, partnership building, data analysis, budget analysis and strategic leadership.
