Buyer – Airport IT Procurement

About the role
As a member of the AAO Airport IT Purchasing team, the Buyer will support global airport IT projects by managing procurement activities from sourcing through delivery. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and project teams to ensure hardware, software, and services are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with company policies.
Key responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities for projects and post‑implementation requests, ensuring timely delivery of equipment and services.
- Coordinate with vendors, Vendor Managers, and Solution Design teams to obtain hardware and freight quotations.
- Clarify logistics requirements, including customs documentation, taxes, and local sourcing constraints.
- Review and validate Bills of Materials to ensure accurate purchasing.
- Track orders, deliveries, and vendor invoices while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
- Support invoice resolution, VAT investigations, and vendor relationship management.
- Contribute to improving procurement processes, tools, and compliance with internal purchasing policies.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Supply Management or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement and logistics, preferably within aviation or telecommunications.
- Strong analytical, organizational and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Experience handling budgets, costs, contracts and working with cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to understand complex operational and logistics requirements.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Experience with the COUPA procurement platform (a plus).
