Backend Developer & Build Engineer

About the role

As a Backend Developer & Build Engineer you will design and continuously improve the technical backbone of Bosch’s modern documentation platform. The role focuses on enabling authors and development teams to produce high‑quality technical documentation efficiently, following the Docs‑as‑Code principle. You will own CI/CD pipelines, automation and cloud‑based deployments to ensure a robust, future‑proof system landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain build pipelines for the documentation platform based on Sphinx.
• Own and optimise CI/CD pipelines on GitHub and Bitbucket, including custom extensions for frontend integration.
• Support cloud‑based deployments and continuously improve automation and system reliability.
• Create scripts, tools and automations for format conversion, data validation and report generation.
• Act as the technical point of contact for the Docs‑as‑Code infrastructure, providing support and troubleshooting for internal users.
• Collaborate with software development teams to enhance documentation workflows based on product and customer requirements.

Required profile

• Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a comparable field.
• Strong interest in DevOps, automation and documentation platforms.
• Ability to work independently and together with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Experience with Sphinx static site generator.
• Hands‑on knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools (GitHub, Bitbucket).
• Proficiency in building and maintaining automation pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud deployment environments.
• Scripting abilities for tool development and process automation.
