Assistant Store Manager

About the role

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in driving sales, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining store appearance and operations. This role steps in to lead the store during the manager’s absence or opposite shifts, ensuring a seamless customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead store team members to provide outstanding service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service programs such as Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, and Rock the Lot.
• Ensure adequate staffing during peak hours and assist with scheduling.
• Set team goals, provide coaching, and monitor training progress.
• Participate in recruitment: schedule interviews, evaluate candidates, and help select qualified staff.
• Manage telephone etiquette according to company policy.
• Process online orders, transfers, and DC add orders promptly, communicating shipment status to customers.
• Handle special orders using the electronic purchase order ledger.
• Process returns, exchanges, and refunds accurately.
• Oversee invoicing of merchandise, core charges, and warranties before shipment.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks.
• Enforce compliance with work schedules, clock‑in/out procedures, and company policies.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including cash handling, deposit preparation, security checks, and vehicle management.
• Assist with store maintenance, signage, equipment, and delivery vehicles.
