Architect – Lead Architecture & Rehabilitation Projects

About the role

Urbanis is seeking an experienced Architect to lead and manage architecture and rehabilitation projects in Porto. The role combines design, technical coordination and direct interaction with city councils, offering a unique blend of real‑estate, technology and entrepreneurship.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architecture and rehabilitation projects from concept through construction.
• Produce architectural drawings, construction details, 3D models and photorealistic renderings.
• Manage licensing processes and coordinate with the Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia City Councils.
• Ensure compliance with Portuguese legislation, urban regulations and safety standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, suppliers and contractors to guarantee proper execution.
• Present design concepts and technical solutions to clients and stakeholders.
• Control budgets, timelines and documentation for multiple concurrent projects.
• Provide on‑site technical support during construction to maintain project integrity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (mandatory).
• 5‑10 years of experience in all project phases, including licensing and on‑site monitoring.
• Proven track record with City Council projects in Porto or Vila Nova de Gaia (minimum two projects).
• Strong organizational, communication and analytical skills.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Archicad (BIM).
• Experience with virtual‑tour tools such as Enscape, Twinmotion or Matterport.
• Ability to create high‑quality renderings using 3ds Max, V‑Ray, Corona Renderer, Blender or D5 Render.
