Accounting Specialist

About the role

The Accounting Specialist will join Gallo’s finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with both national and international accounting standards. This role combines hands‑on accounting work with team leadership and process improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Implement national and international accounting guidelines, ensuring compliance with current accounting‑tax legislation and Unilever principles.
• Manage a team of two direct reports and collaborate daily with the factory’s finance team.
• Coordinate the monthly closing process and guarantee timely reporting.
• Implement, perform and supervise internal accounting controls across Source to Pay, Record to Report, Materials, Fixed Assets and Order to Cash.
• Conduct regular analysis and critical reviews of the Balance Sheet and P&L to ensure complete and accurate transaction recording.
• Oversee fixed‑assets accounting processes, including work‑in‑progress, capitalization, depreciation and disposals.
• Support bank and vendor reconciliations, expense processing, journal entries and vendor invoice handling.
• Identify gaps and optimize business processes through digital transformation, enhancing efficiency and compliance.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships, providing clear financial input, early risk identification and decision‑making support.
• Support audit processes and ensure compliance with legal and fiscal obligations.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Experience managing a small finance team and coordinating month‑end closing activities.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented, organized and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong experience with SAP.
