Accountant – SAP FI & Purchase to Pay Specialist

About the role

BIRKENSTOCK is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its finance team, primarily supporting the BPP entity and, when possible, the S&CC unit. The role focuses on SAP‑based accounting processes, ensuring compliance with local legal requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑off support for the SAP roll‑out for BPP, guaranteeing alignment with local regulations.
• Independently post all invoices with the correct tax codes.
• Process expense claims, applying appropriate VAT and tax codings.
• Execute required statistical reporting at the local level.
• Assist with month‑end closing activities.
• Coordinate and support inter‑company reconciliations.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong knowledge of German accounting standards and statutory filing requirements (e.g., SAFT‑T).
• Experience handling VAT, tax coding, and local statistical reports.

Required skills

• Expertise in SAP FI, particularly the Purchase‑to‑Pay (P2P) cycle.
• Ability to post invoices and expense claims independently in SAP.
