Accountant – Maternity Leave Cover

About the role

Sonae Sierra is seeking a motivated Accountant to cover a maternity leave within its Shared Services Center (SSC) Accounting team. Based in the company’s central offices in Lisbon, you will support the accounting and statutory reporting of group companies and third‑party service providers operating shopping centres across Portugal.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly closing entries for Sonae Sierra group entities and third‑party owners/service providers.
• Post invoices, accruals, deferrals and perform trial‑balance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and Portuguese Local GAAP (SNC) for statutory reporting.
• Compile the consolidation package and produce annual statutory accounts, including the Simplified Corporate Information (IES) filing.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Management.
• 1‑2 years of experience in accounting or auditing.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills (mandatory).
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Knowledge of SAP (advantageous).
