DLA Piper’s San Juan office is offering a summer internship for first‑year law students (1L) as part of its 2027 Summer Program. The role provides hands‑on experience in legal research, drafting, and client interaction within a global law firm environment.

Key responsibilities

• Apply sustained concentration to complex legal tasks.
• Analyze problems and provide strategic legal advice.
• Research case law and draft written communications.
• Craft, critique, and comment on legal arguments.
• Work under pressure to meet deadlines and deliver high‑quality work.
• Communicate effectively with partners, lawyers, clients, and staff.
• Produce deliverables, answer calls, and respond to correspondence promptly.

Required profile

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong motivation to develop legal skills.
• Completed at least two semesters of law school prior to the start of the program.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Eligibility to work in the location without immigration sponsorship.
