Subcontracts Manager – Life Sciences North America

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Subcontracts Manager to lead procurement and subcontracting activities for large‑scale life‑science construction projects across North America. You will oversee a team of Subcontract Administrators, ensure compliance with contractual requirements, and support the delivery of projects valued between $200M and $750M.

Key responsibilities

• Develop upfront procurement planning, including the Subcontracting section of the Supply Management Execution Plan (SMEP) and project‑specific strategies.
• Create and maintain templates, reports, and tools tailored to each project’s needs.
• Lead and mentor a team of subcontract administrators, assigning packages, setting priorities, and removing obstacles.
• Coordinate closely with Project Procurement Managers, Project Managers, and Construction Managers to align subcontracting activities with overall project goals.
• Apply critical thinking and problem‑solving to improve efficiency and effectiveness of subcontracting processes.
• Ensure all subcontracting actions comply with Jacobs policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in subcontract management and procurement for large construction projects.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team of subcontract administrators.
• Strong understanding of procurement concepts, principles, and best practices.
• Experience handling high‑value, strategically important projects in the life‑science sector.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
