Sterilization Operator

About the role

The Sterilization Operator ensures that contact lens products are safely sterilized, packaged, and palletized according to strict quality specifications. Working on the production floor, you will operate autoclaves, perform equipment adjustments, and support the overall manufacturing flow.

Key responsibilities

• Sterilize manufactured lenses following established procedures and specifications.
• Change ribbon and label settings on printing equipment as required.
• Clean and maintain processing equipment surfaces.
• Troubleshoot minor process interruptions, such as autoclave door releases or equipment alarms.
• Replace bulbs, batteries, and resolve simple faults on measurement devices.
• Handle post‑sterilization product, perform manual packaging, and segregate approved or rejected items.
• Conduct packaging audits and ensure proper palletization.
• Assist Product Support with equipment maintenance, corrective actions, and FDA audit documentation.
• Document downtime, manage non‑conforming lot records, and support quality reporting.

Required profile

• Experience in a manufacturing or sterilization environment, preferably medical devices.
• Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and Good Documentation Practices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a positive attitude.

Required skills

• Autoclave operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Equipment maintenance (ribbon/label changes, bulb and battery replacement).
• Manual packaging and palletizing techniques.
• Quality documentation and audit support.
• Knowledge of QSR (Quality System Regulation) and FDA audit requirements.
