Software Engineer – React & Node.js

About the role

KCS IT is looking for a motivated Software Engineer to join its Lisbon team and work on high‑performance web applications using React and Node.js. You will collaborate with international clients, mainly in the UK and US, delivering reliable, scalable solutions while growing your expertise in modern development practices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full‑stack applications with React front‑end and Node.js back‑end.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth delivery.
• Write automated tests (unit, integration, regression) following a TDD approach.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot production issues, and optimise code.
• Develop secure RESTful APIs, handling authentication and cryptography.

Required profile

• Computer Science degree or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of professional experience on similar projects.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent written and spoken English and legal permission to work in the EU.
