Software Engineer I – Onsite with Secret Clearance

About the role

Join an industry‑leading aerospace development team in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. As a Software Engineer I you will work onsite, collaborating with cross‑functional experts to design and implement software that supports critical defense and commercial communication systems.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team to define system requirements and translate them into detailed software specifications, UML/SysML models, and diagrams.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance code that meets customer requirements and certification standards.
• Integrate and test software implementations in dedicated test environments, ensuring compliance with all functional and security requirements.
• Communicate effectively with other engineers and stakeholders to foster a solution‑focused, cohesive development environment.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with an active, transferable Secret DoD clearance prior to start date.
• Residence in Puerto Rico at the time of employment (relocation not offered).
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
• Less than two years of relevant software development experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python and C++.
• Experience with debugging, integration, and deployment of software.
• Knowledge of UML/SysML modeling techniques.
• Understanding of software development best practices for complex, mission‑critical systems.
