Senior Legal Counsel - Core

About the role

The Senior Legal Counsel – Core will join a global, fully remote legal team supporting a fast‑growing HR technology company. You will provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal guidance while protecting the organization from operational and legal risk across products, services, employment matters, and global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support internal stakeholders in Sales, Customer Experience, Onboarding, Lifecycle and other functions with practical, customer‑focused legal advice.
• Develop and continuously improve contract templates, legal playbooks, SOPs and knowledge resources, especially for employment‑related products.
• Conduct in‑depth legal research on new products, regulatory developments and employment matters, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Own complex legal projects and contribute to the evolution of the legal function.
• Identify and implement process improvements, best practices and scalable solutions.
• Manage internal and client‑facing legal escalations requiring senior judgment.
• Coordinate relationships with local counsel and external lawyers, leading litigation and collection matters when needed.
• Mentor and train junior legal team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Collaborate with Legal Operations on efficiency, automation and AI initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with several years of experience in corporate, employment or technology law.
• Highly autonomous, commercially minded and comfortable working in a distributed, asynchronous environment.
• Curious about global legal systems and able to translate legal risk into practical business solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to balance legal advice with business objectives.
