Resilience Engineer

About the role

Join Vodafone as a Resilience Engineer to shape the future of connectivity while ensuring our platforms remain robust and recoverable. You will work across global teams to embed resilience into system design, monitoring and incident response.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and govern resilience strategies across system architecture, deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
• Define and track stability KPIs such as MTTD, MTTR and error budgets, partnering with performance and operations teams.
• Design and implement fault injection testing, chaos engineering practices and scenario‑based simulations.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure and development teams to redesign services with built‑in redundancy, failover and graceful degradation.
• Drive automation and observability improvements to reduce noise, increase fault detection speed and support predictive failure mitigation.
• Contribute to the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan for IoT systems.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Strong expertise in Site Reliability Engineering principles, SLO/SLI, error budgets and observability.
• Deep understanding of distributed‑system behaviour, failure modes and dependency management.
• Proven ability to analyse incidents, identify systemic patterns and drive cross‑team improvements.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
