Manager - Data Scientist

About the role

Mastercard is looking for an experienced Manager of Data Science to lead its Product Data Analytics team in Lisbon. You will be responsible for shaping data‑driven decision making across the organization and delivering large‑scale analytical capabilities that support users on six continents.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing team of Data Analysts, Senior Data Scientists and Business Analysts.
• Define and execute a comprehensive data analytics and infrastructure strategy.
• Oversee planning, execution and delivery of data analytics projects, ensuring quality, timeliness and scope.
• Drive the development and deployment of advanced analytics models, including predictive and prescriptive solutions.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align analytics initiatives with business objectives and communicate insights to non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience managing data science or analytics teams.
• Strong track record of delivering data‑driven insights that influence strategic decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex analytical concepts for diverse audiences.
• Ability to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous learning.
