Lead Software Engineer – Flight Management Systems

About the role

As a Lead Software Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace you will guide a team of engineers in creating high‑quality flight‑management software that powers modern aircraft. You will shape the architecture, ensure compliance with aerospace standards and drive continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop core software architecture and applications for flight‑management systems.
• Integrate flight‑management software into new product developments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define requirements and specifications.
• Implement solutions that meet performance, security and scalability targets.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Perform testing and integration on laboratory test benches.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Required profile

• U.S. Person as defined by export control regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (science, engineering, mathematics).
• Minimum 10 years of software development experience.
• Strong C++ and object‑oriented programming expertise.
• Proven experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Solid software architecture and design skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
