Lead Mechanical Engineer – Nuclear

About the role

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer you will drive the design and modification of nuclear power plant systems. You will work closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver technically robust and cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review modification packages, functional mechanical drawings, and engineering analyses for operating nuclear plants.
• Develop technical specifications, procurement documents, and cost estimates for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids and conduct option studies for plant modifications.
• Lead project teams, interface with client sites, and present engineering status updates.
• Guide the use of automation, AI, and scripting tools (Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to improve workflows and reduce rework.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (ABET accredited).
• 10+ years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for nuclear mechanical design.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (read, speak, write).
• PE license is a plus but not required.
