Junior Software Engineer – AI‑Driven Development

About the role

Brighten Consulting is looking for a Junior Software Engineer to work side‑by‑side with Nova, our AI Agentic Engineer, across the full software development lifecycle. You will help translate client requests into product requirements, guide AI‑generated code, and ensure high‑quality releases.

Key responsibilities

• Direct AI coding agents (e.g., Nova) to curate requirements, design plans, and co‑author code.
• Review both agent‑generated and human code for logic errors, hallucinated APIs, and security issues.
• Maintain clear codebase structure, documentation, and scoped tasks for effective agent navigation.
• Write robust unit, integration, and performance tests to validate AI output.
• Participate in pull‑request reviews, ship code with zero downtime, and document architectural decisions (ADRs).

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience with backend and frontend frameworks.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (T‑SQL, MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL.
• Experience designing public APIs and using Git and DevOps workflows.
• Hands‑on experience with AI coding agents such as Nova, Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
• Ability to craft prompts, system instructions, and manage multiple AI agents concurrently.
• Solid computer‑science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, system design).
