HR Manager, Europe

About the role

Pestana Hotel Group is seeking a strategic HR Manager for Europe to lead HR operations across multiple countries. Based in Lisbon, you will partner with business leaders to align talent initiatives with the group’s growth objectives while fostering a positive, multicultural workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment for management and key operational roles across Europe.
• Oversee employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace culture initiatives.
• Identify training needs and deliver development programmes to boost capability and performance.
• Support performance reviews, succession planning, and talent development.
• Coordinate compensation, payroll, and benefits administration ensuring compliance.
• Ensure adherence to local labour legislation and internal HR policies in each country.
• Provide strategic workforce planning, organisational development, and change‑management support.
• Drive employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction initiatives.
• Facilitate cross‑border assignments, onboarding, and international mobility programmes.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Law or related field.
• Proven HR management experience, preferably in hospitality or multinational settings.
• Experience supporting HR functions across several European countries.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and interpersonal abilities.
• Strategic mindset combined with hands‑on problem‑solving skills.
• Fluent English; additional European languages are a plus.
