General Manager – Luxury Hotel (Lisbon)

About the role

The General Manager will lead ME Lisbon, a flagship luxury lifestyle hotel in the heart of Portugal’s capital. Reporting to corporate, the GM is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience while positioning the property as a leading destination for both international travelers and the local social scene.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall hotel strategy, aligning operational, commercial, financial and guest‑experience objectives with ME by Meliá brand standards.
• Position ME Lisbon as a benchmark in the luxury lifestyle segment, enhancing visibility, reputation and market performance.
• Develop and implement a strategic plan that drives profitability, cost optimisation and revenue growth.
• Build, inspire and manage a high‑performing multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
• Maintain the highest quality standards across rooms, food & beverage, events, wellness and entertainment.
• Monitor financial results, achieve GOP, EBITDA and guest‑satisfaction targets, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Strengthen relationships with owners, strategic partners, local authorities and key stakeholders.
• Lead commercial and marketing initiatives in collaboration with corporate and local teams.
• Ensure full compliance with legal, safety, sustainability and corporate‑governance requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a General Manager in luxury, lifestyle or premium hospitality environments.
• Strong background in Food & Beverage operations and guest experience management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex hotel operations and multidisciplinary teams.
• Track record of delivering financial results and driving profitability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
