Engineering Supervisor – Product Engineering Laboratory

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to lead our Product Engineering Laboratory, supporting validation, testing and continuous improvement of innovative automotive products. Reporting into the Engineering organisation, you will manage laboratory operations, ensure compliance with international testing standards and develop a high‑performing engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Laboratory Engineers, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture.
• Allocate laboratory resources according to business priorities and project requirements.
• Manage day‑to‑day laboratory operations, ensuring safety, efficiency and compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
• Oversee maintenance, calibration and continuous improvement of testing equipment and facilities.
• Plan laboratory capacity to meet testing schedules and support product development timelines.
• Coordinate product validation and qualification testing, ensuring adherence to customer specifications, engineering requirements and international standards.
• Review and validate technical reports and test results before release.
• Maintain full compliance with ISO 17025 and recognised automotive industry standards, supporting internal and external audits.
• Define laboratory objectives, monitor performance through KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading laboratory engineers in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
• Strong laboratory background with hands‑on knowledge of testing equipment and validation processes.
• In‑depth understanding of ISO 17025 and automotive testing standards.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams.
• Commitment to health & safety compliance and operational excellence.
