Data Engineer – Cloud Pipelines (Lisbon)

About the role

Gaming1 is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimise data pipelines and products that support its international gaming operations. You will work closely with existing engineers to ensure data quality, reliability and scalability while contributing to long‑term maintainability.

Key responsibilities

• Implement data quality tests that reflect business rules and technical validation.
• Collaborate with domain data engineers and stakeholders, document processes and conduct knowledge‑transfer sessions.
• Optimise data pipelines, tune performance, and define data contracts to improve maintainability.
• Investigate and resolve failed loads or quality breaches promptly.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience building cloud data pipelines.
• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python/PySpark.
• Experience with Airflow or a similar workflow scheduler.
• Familiarity with idempotent or merge‑based ingestion patterns.
• Knowledge of automated data testing frameworks such as Great Expectations or Soda.
• Excellent documentation and mentoring abilities.
