AWS DevOps Engineer – Lisbon

About the role

Decskill is seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join a challenging project in Lisbon. You will work within a collaborative team to design, secure, and optimise cloud infrastructure that supports our clients' digital transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable AWS infrastructure.
• Manage AWS security, including access control, encryption, best‑practice hardening, and compliance.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Operate containerised environments with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement and maintain secure database services such as Amazon RDS and PostgreSQL.
• Create Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Patch, harden, and manage Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Design cloud networking solutions (VPN, Direct Connect, DNS, TCP/IP, DDoS protection, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink).
• Leverage AI‑based tools to improve cloud operations.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in AWS infrastructure and cloud operations.
• Strong background in AWS security and cloud‑security best practices.
• Proven experience with Kubernetes and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands‑on expertise with Terraform or OpenTofu for IaC.
• Solid knowledge of Docker, Windows Server, Linux, and cloud networking components.
