Automation QA Engineer – Performance & AI Testing

About the role

Komodo Consulting is looking for an Automation QA Engineer to join a technology company project. You will work in a hybrid setting (2 days onsite) from Lisbon, Coimbra or Braga, focusing on both manual and automated testing while leveraging AI‑driven techniques to improve quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute automated and manual test cases throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Validate functional and non‑functional requirements, ensuring system reliability and performance.
• Create and run performance tests (load, stress) using JMeter based on defined requirements.
• Analyze performance test results, identify bottlenecks and propose improvements.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts and DevOps to increase test coverage and overall quality.
• Contribute to test framework design and continuous quality practices.
• Apply AI‑driven testing approaches to optimise test coverage, efficiency and defect detection.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer.
• Strong experience with JMeter for performance testing (mandatory).
• Proven ability to design performance tests and analyse results.
• Knowledge of AI‑driven testing techniques and tools.
• Experience in manual test case creation, execution and defect management.
• ISTQB certification or equivalent.
• English level B2 or higher.
