Application Support Engineer (SQL) – French Speaker

About the role

We are looking for an Application Support Engineer with strong SQL expertise and fluency in French to join our investment‑banking and financial‑services project in Portugal. The role is hybrid, based in Porto or Lisbon, and involves supporting innovative solutions that power the business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line and second‑line application support for banking and financial services applications.
• Write, test and optimise SQL queries, including SELECT statements, filters and JOIN operations.
• Perform routine database administration tasks and assist with data‑related incidents.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to resolve technical issues and improve system reliability.
• Communicate with French‑speaking stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver support.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience in IT technical support, application support, or data‑oriented customer support.
• Strong command of SQL and practical knowledge of database administration.
• Fluent in English and French.
