Staff Software Engineer (Python) – Remote in Portugal

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer specialized in Python to join our remote team in Portugal. You will work on high‑impact backend services, shaping architecture and mentoring engineers while delivering scalable solutions for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Python‑based microservices using FastAPI.
• Lead technical decisions and guide junior team members.
• Collaborate with DevOps to deploy applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Implement infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform.
• Ensure code quality, performance, and security through best practices and code reviews.

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional experience as a Python engineer, including senior or principal roles.
• Proven leadership or mentorship experience in software teams.
• Fluent English (B2/C1 level) with strong communication skills.
