Staff Immigration Attorney

About the role

We are an American‑based immigration firm focused on relocation to Portugal and Europe. We seek a licensed immigration attorney with extensive experience in Portuguese immigration law to join our young, dynamic team of specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Manage approximately ten AIMA administrative actions per month for client cases.
• Draft and send three to five letters monthly to Portuguese embassies to resolve client issues.
• Stay current with immigration legislation by participating in professional chat groups and informing the team of updates.
• Visit local AIMA offices on behalf of clients for problem or stalled cases, as needed.
• Handle AIMA follow‑up requests promptly.
• Assist clients with obtaining tax numbers (NIF), social security numbers (NISS), and setting up Portuguese companies (LDA).
• Guide clients through permanent residence, citizenship, family reunification, and various visa processes.

Required profile

• Registered with the Portuguese Bar Association for at least four years.
• Extensive experience in immigration law, particularly Portuguese immigration statutes and AIMA regulations.
• Fluent in spoken and written English with excellent communication skills.
• Proactive, results‑oriented, and willing to work intensively.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Portuguese immigration law and AIMA articles (92, 91, 98.2, 98.1, 90.2, 122, 15).
• Familiarity with all type D visas, Golden Visa procedures, residence permits for EU family members, family reunification, and Portuguese citizenship pathways.
