People Operations Specialist – Hospitality

About the role

Neptune Commune is looking for a People Operations professional to own the full employee lifecycle for its growing hospitality and restaurant group in Lisbon. You will ensure recruitment, onboarding, payroll, compliance and culture initiatives run smoothly, supporting a team that delivers memorable guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Write and update job descriptions that reflect real needs and company culture.
• Source candidates, conduct screenings and maintain a talent database.
• Design and manage a welcoming onboarding experience and handle respectful off‑boarding.
• Organise employee files, contracts, amendments and certificates to stay legally compliant.
• Monitor Portuguese labour law, keep the company audit‑ready and coordinate regulatory matters.
• Collect, validate and review monthly payroll data, acting as the main liaison with external accountants.
• Track engagement through surveys and one‑on‑ones, and develop initiatives that boost retention and team spirit.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of People Operations experience in the hospitality sector.
• Degree in Human Resources, Management or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese labour legislation.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Excellent communication skills, organised, detail‑oriented and reliable.
