Data Architect

About the role

MAPFRE is looking for a Data Architect to join its team in Hato Rey. The role involves designing and maintaining the organization’s data architecture, ensuring efficiency, security, and alignment with business objectives while fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain the enterprise data structure, guaranteeing performance and security.
• Develop integration solutions across multiple systems and platforms to streamline information flow.
• Oversee database and cloud architecture on Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Implement best practices for data quality, protection, and governance.
• Collaborate with technology and business teams to translate needs into technical solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend tools that improve data handling within the company.
• Support analysts, developers, and business leaders in understanding and addressing data requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data architecture or related fields.
• Hands‑on experience with Oracle PL/SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Reporting Services, and Unix.
• Proven experience across the full System Development Life Cycle.
• Background in ASP.NET, MVC, and Web API development.
• Strong communication skills in both Spanish and English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
