Backstage Backend Developer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Backstage Backend Developer to strengthen our developer platform. You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services that power the Backstage portal, enhancing developer productivity across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and extend backend services for the Backstage developer portal.
• Integrate internal and external tools and services into Backstage.
• Participate in architectural discussions and enforce technical best practices.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, performance, and security of backend components.
• Design, build, and maintain APIs and integrations with multiple external systems.
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers and cross‑functional teams.
• Support CI/CD automation initiatives and continuous platform improvements.

Required profile

• Strong experience in backend development (Node.js, TypeScript, Python, or Java).
• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience with Backstage.io.
• Proven ability to build and maintain APIs and microservices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and Agile/DevOps environments.
