Sr. Facilities Engineer – Sterilization

About the role

The Senior Facilities Engineer – Sterilization will support the design, construction and commissioning of clean rooms, chiller plants and compressed‑air systems for a medical‑device/pharmaceutical environment. The role combines technical expertise in building automation with hands‑on project management to ensure critical facilities operate reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Support design and build of clean rooms, chiller plants and compressed‑air plants.
• Plan, design and oversee reconfiguration, maintenance and alteration of equipment, machinery and building structures.
• Gather and review data on facility specifications, regulatory constraints, feasibility and project timelines.
• Coordinate with architecture and engineering firms to develop design criteria and detailed drawings.
• Prepare bid sheets, contracts and cost estimates for construction and facility acquisition.
• Inspect or direct inspection of construction, installation progress and commissioning to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Travel to other sites (5‑10% of time) as project needs dictate.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Automation Engineering.
• Minimum four years of relevant experience in the medical‑device or pharmaceutical industry.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and schematics.
• Experience with integrated building solutions such as temperature control, critical environment monitoring, power management, alarming, zoned lighting and access control.
• Hands‑on experience with Tridium/Niagara or Siemens BAS platforms.
• Facility commissioning experience.
• Availability for day shift and flexibility to work other shifts when required.
