Senior Android Developer

About the role

IRIUM is looking for a Senior Android Developer to take full ownership of complex features, write clean Kotlin code, and ensure high performance and stability of our mobile applications. You will work in a hybrid environment across Lisbon, Braga and Coimbra, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver modern, responsive user experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Feature Ownership: design, negotiate API contracts, implement and deploy end‑to‑end epics.
• Code Mastery: write idiomatic Kotlin and build UIs with Jetpack Compose.
• Architectural Mastery: maintain Clean Architecture and MVVM/MVI patterns for modular development.
• Performance & Stability: detect memory leaks, optimise network layer and reduce app startup times.
• DevOps & Automation: contribute to CI/CD pipelines (Azure, Bitrise) for automated testing and deployment.
• Quality Guard: lead testing efforts with unit and UI tests that document system behaviour.
• Technical Problem Solving: act as the go‑to person for high‑priority production issues and Android OS fragmentation challenges.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional Android development experience.
• Fluent English (minimum B2 level) – profile and all communications must be in English.
• Experience with live coding assessments and technical interviews.

• Persistence (Room, SQLDelight)
• Testing (JUnit, Mockito/MockK, Espresso, Compose Test)
• CI/CD tools (Azure Pipelines, Bitrise)
• Google Play Console, App Bundles, ProGuard/R8
