Senior Accountant – Record to Report (R2R) – Lisbon

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to join our Record to Report (R2R) team in Lisbon. You will own month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities for several European entities and work closely with Finance, Controlling, Tax, Treasury and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing tasks, including journal entries, accruals and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Review profit & loss accounts, investigate variances and ensure compliance with IFRS, local GAAP and company policies.
• Manage general ledger accounts, support intercompany accounting and resolve related issues.
• Provide key financial controls and support internal and external audit requests with schedules, reconciliations and evidence.
• Collaborate with Business Finance, Controlling, Tax, Treasury, FP&A and local finance teams as the primary accounting contact.
• Identify opportunities to standardise processes and contribute to automation and finance transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 3‑5+ years of experience in accounting, record‑to‑report or financial reporting.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of month‑end close, balance‑sheet reconciliations and IFRS.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP or a similar ERP system.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Experience with Cognos or BlackLine (advantage).
