Record to Report (R2R) Accountant – Finance Shared Services Center

About the role

The Record to Report (R2R) Accountant will join a newly created Finance Shared Services Center in Lisbon, supporting end‑to‑end accounting processes for Europe and North America. The role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries in line with accounting policies, closing timelines, and quality standards.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations, including balance‑sheet, sub‑ledger, and intercompany accounts.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing activities, adhering to the close calendar.
• Prepare intercompany reconciliations, confirm balances and resolve discrepancies.
• Produce Opex reports and management reporting packs as required.
• Maintain audit‑ready financial documentation and support internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and IFRS/GAAP requirements.
• Identify discrepancies, risks, or control issues and escalate appropriately.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives to streamline R2R processes and enhance automation.

Required profile

• Solid knowledge of IFRS/GAAP accounting principles.
• Proven experience in month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and meet service level agreements.

Required skills

• SAP S/4HANA (mandatory).
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
• Experience with account reconciliations, intercompany processes and audit documentation.
