Pet Groomer & Salon Trainer (Salon Experience Lead)

About the role

PetSmart’s Salon Experience Lead (Groomer & Salon Trainer) is responsible for providing exceptional service to pet parents and supporting a high‑performing team while upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role delivers professional‑quality grooming services with a strong focus on pet safety and care. The Lead also guides the development of bathers and new stylists through the full pet stylist development program.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate associate experience, including training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Deliver the full menu of bath, brush, and grooming services, as well as standalone services such as nail trims and teeth brushing.
• Engage pet parents at checkout, recommend wellness solutions, and drive re‑booking and salon sales.
• Maintain store standards, cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions in the grooming area.
• Identify internal candidates for academy training, oversee certification processes, and recognize high‑performing associates.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional pet grooming experience.
• Full‑time availability with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to stay composed under pressure.
• Organizational attention to detail and safety, with supervisory responsibility for guiding other associates.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pet grooming tools, equipment, and products.
• Proficiency in computer applications for booking and reporting.
