Head of Finance Portugal

About the role

Glovo is seeking a Head of Finance for its Portuguese market, one of its largest and most strategic locations. You will act as the primary financial advisor to the General Manager, overseeing all aspects of finance, performance steering, and controlling while co‑owning finance operations across shared service centers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance team to deliver insights, identify opportunities, and challenge the status quo.
• Own the full P&L, driving revenue levers, cost optimisation, and financial stewardship.
• Manage annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and monthly performance reviews in partnership with all departments.
• Develop business cases, scenario analyses, and predictive models to support expansion and commercial strategy.
• Act as the liaison with HQ, advocating for local needs and ensuring alignment with global finance, strategy, and data teams.
• Oversee treasury, accounting, tax, and finance processes, and ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
• Supervise relationships with external auditors, consultants, and other third parties.
• Represent Portugal in international forums and contribute to Glovo’s global playbook.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in technical finance functions such as accounting, tax, treasury, and planning.
• Proven track record in a senior finance leadership role with full P&L responsibility.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills to influence C‑level stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
