Financial Crime Team Lead

About the role

The Financial Crime Team Lead will manage a group of analysts responsible for end‑to‑end transaction payments screening. Acting as the bridge between operations management and analysts, the role ensures workflow efficiency, quality, and compliance with AML regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop analysts to meet productivity, quality, and SLA targets.
• Conduct regular one‑on‑ones, performance reviews, and identify training needs.
• Utilize data analytics for trend analysis, KPI reporting, and quality metrics.
• Oversee daily investigation workflow, including allocation, prioritisation, case handling and review.
• Monitor individual and team performance metrics and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain audit trails, escalation logs, and case documentation standards.
• Partner with QC and QA teams to keep error rates within acceptable thresholds.
• Act as first escalation point for operational or procedural issues.
• Identify red‑flag patterns, emerging fraud typologies, and escalate high‑risk cases.
• Support internal audits and ensure audit readiness.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to streamline workflows and improve investigation efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a team of analysts in a financial crime or AML environment.
• Strong understanding of AML regulations and risk‑based approaches.
• Excellent analytical abilities to detect trends and emerging typologies.
• Effective communication skills for stakeholder collaboration and escalation.
• Ability to drive performance improvements through data‑driven insights.
